You Make a Difference
Kelly Rasmussen
Hi! Today I'm playing along with our current Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge, which encourages you to think outside the box and use a product in a way that it wasn't necessarily intended. Can you tell which image I used to make the flower below?
It's a lemon from the Zest Wishes stamp set! I repeatedly stamped the image in a circle with Clear Embossing + Watermark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I colored the flower using a water brush and a rainbow assortment of Reactive Inks. There is also a smaller lemon in the set, so you could make two different sizes of flowers!
I wanted to keep the card clean and simple, so I added a subtle dry embossed background using the Large Flower Stencil. The petal design is a perfect complement to the floral focal point.
I stamped a message from the HA + Pinkfresh Studio You Make A Difference stamp set. And added some Clear Enamel Dots for the finishing touch!
Reminder: Our "Out of the Box" challenge ends on Thursday, May 7th at 5:00pm PT and all the details can be found HERE.
So I guess when life gives you lemons...make a flower! ;)

AWESOME “Lemon” rainbow blossom!
I have to respond to this. Normally when they do an “out of the box” design, they still are similar in thought. This is truly a rethink of the lemon design. And, it is beautifully done. I normally don’t put in comments ever but this really caught my eye and is ingenious as well as beautifully done. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Gorgeous flower made out of the lemon image, Kelly!! Just love your delicate water coloring and the texture behind looks amazing!!
