Stenciled Ink Blending Over Liquid Watercolors
Hi everybody! It's Maria here today and I've got a colorful stenciled card to share with you. I've combined some different and fun techniques to make the background using the Rays of Color Stencil then topped it off with the Love You Stamp & Cut XL and the Color Me Words stamp set.
I started out with a watercolored background that I made using liquid watercolors. I made this background a while ago so I'm guessing at the colors but I think I used Purple, Dark Teal and Leaf. I did a light watercolor wash and let it dry. Then I used some Pixie Spray to adhere the Rays of Color Stencil to the background. Then I ink-blended over the stencil using Thistle, Splash, Blue Raspberry and Key Lime Fizz Reactive Inks to add a darker layer of color. I sprayed the background with White Iridescent Shimmer Mist and splattered it with Pewter Glimmer Metallic Ink.
Next, I heat embossed the circular stamp from the Color Me Words set in Bronze. I swiped my Clear Embossing & Watermark ink pad over the top of it so that I could hide the word "you" with embossing powder and only have the word "are" remaining. I attached that to the bottom of the large "you" from the Love You Stamp & Cut XL. I chose three words to heat emboss onto my card front (I used Sapphire Pigment Ink and Clear Embossing Powder) and staggered them below the larger, die-cut pieces.
I finished the card off by adding a few little gems just to add a little more texture to my card. That's it for today you all. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week!
Take care!
