Stunning Snowflake Birthday Cards
Hi there! Rosie here to share some winter themed birthday cards. I used a few basic products to get an elegant and sparkly birthday card.
I created two top folding card bases from heavy weight vellum. I used the Color Layering Snowflake Stencils directly on the front of each vellum card base. I did this in two color ways. The first one I used Dusty Blue, Periwinkle and Nautical Core Inks and the second I used Passion Flower, Orchid and Grape Juice Core Inks. For the final layer, I smooshed a little of the darkest ink onto a media mat and then mixed in White Pearl paste. Before I pulled the stencil off, I sprinkled some Prisma Glitter and lightly pressed it into the paste. I let that dry and cleaned my stencils.
I cut three panels to 3.5"x4.75" from Passion Flower and Periwinkle Cardstock. Once the Hero Paste was dry, I adhered the panels on the inside of the card and the very backside of the card. I strategically hid the adhesive behind the areas with paste so you wouldn’t see it through the vellum. Another option is adhering a smaller top folding card inside but my panel was slightly warped from the hero paste and I used the inside panel to flatten out the vellum.
The sentiment from the blue card is a transfer from the Birthday Party Hero Transfers set. The sentiment from the purple card is from the Let’s Celebrate stamp set. I trimmed and matted each sentiment on the coordinating cardstock and then popped them up. To finish the cards off, I used Blues and Translucent Purple Enamel Dots.
I love the Hero Hues Core Inks and Pearl Hero Paste on the vellum for these wintery birthday cards. You could easily change sentiment or color for a different look. I think a monochromatic grey and white would look gorgeous.
Have a crafty holiday!
