Welcome everyone! It's Mindy Eggen and today I'm sharing some inspiration with the Snowflake Swirl Bold Prints background stamp. Typically, you would see this stamped in some traditional winter sky colors but I thought I would change it up today for a fun holiday scene.
I'm starting by stamping the Snowflake Swirl Bold Prints onto Hero Hues Premium Dove White cardstock cut to 4 1/4"x 5 1/2" using Crimson Bold Ink. I love how this red really pops off the card.
To create my scene, I stamped images from the Snowy Town stamp set using Soft Olive Shadow Ink, Ombre Soft Brown to Cup O Joe, Soft Sky Shadow Ink and Charcoal Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. Then used the coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out.
I also stamped some trees in Soft Olive Shadow Ink for a landscape using the Winter Woods HeroScape. The HeroScapes are always a favorite of mine and can be combined with so many other stamp sets to create beautiful scenes.
After all of my pieces are stamped and die cut I can start the assembly of my card. I trimmed my Snowflake Swirl background down to 4" x 51/4" and added to a Hero Hues Dove White Top Fold card base.
Next, I added my Winter Woods with foam tape to give a little dimension and continued to add the other elements to the scene.
I finished off my card with a sentiment from the Snowy Town stamp set by stamping in Clear Embossing and Watermark Ink onto Hero Hues Pitch Black cardstock. Then sprinkling on Silver Embossing Powder and heat setting with a heat tool.
I think changing up the colors of the background to something a little out-of-the-box adds a fun twist to the card. I am thinking of also stamping this in black ink for a really dramatic look! Hope you enjoyed today's inspiration and it encourages you to try stamping your images in non-traditional colors.
Thanks for stopping by!
