I'm getting more comfortable using watercolors on my projects. I just love watercolors because it is unpredictable - a very friendly medium for any beginner that doesn’t require much fuss.

As part of my learning process, I shared a video tutorial on how to create a simple watercolor wash background last month (left). Then I created a detailed watercolor background with more layers for my August MMH blog hop project last Monday (right).

For today's project I went one step further by creating my own watercolor pattern with bold brushstrokes. If you want to learn how to paint with watercolors, I highly recommend to jump right in and start creating your own watercolor background first.

Once you enjoy controlling the chaos that happens when water and pigment dance on paper, then you are ready for the next step: watercoloring images. At least it worked for me.

For the focal point of my card, I stamped the dog image and dressed him up with a hat and glasses from the Hipster Animals stamp set. After fussy cutting the image with scissors, I popped it up with foam tape on the card front.

I chose the sentiment BE FEARLESS from the Dare To Dream stamp set as I thought it goes perfect with my watercolor background. I didn't feel any fear when I added bold brushstrokes on my project, but I enjoyed the unpredictability of my watercolors.

I made a video tutorial showing you how I created my watercolor card from start to finish. If you are having a problem viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.

That’s all for today. Hope you loved my card and got some inspiration to make your own watercolor background using bold brushstrokes.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
