Video: Watercolor Background with Neon Brights Liquid Watercolors
Hello crafty friends! This is Mindy and I'm here today to share a card I created using the Neon Brights Liquid Watercolors. I have a video tutorial of my process below.
(If you are having trouble viewing this video, you can watch HERE on YouTube)
Liquid Watercolors are not only ideal for watercoloring images – they are also great for creating backgrounds.
In the video, I started by swatching out my colors so I knew what the shades all looked like and then decided from there which ones I wanted to use. I'll be using the Hero Arts Luxe Watercolor Paper and the Neon Brights in Purple, Pink, and Sunshine.
I started by blending the colors together with a bit of water using a flat paint brush. I let that dry and then repeated the process to intensify the colors.
Once this layer was dry, I sprayed it with Iridescent White Shimmer Spray and clean water to add shimmer and also help the colors blend a little more organically.
To give the eye a resting place and add a bit of white space, I die cut an arch using the Arches Infinity Die from Deluxe White cardstock. I used this as a guide to stamp my images from the Floral Imprints stamp set using Black ink. Don't be surprised if you need to stamp the images multiple times to get a good clean impression because watercolor paper is textured.
I love to go through my older stamp sets and combine them with current products. Here I'm using a sentiment from the Tulip Fields HeroScape stamp set. After my images and sentiment are stamped, I added the window panel using foam tape for dimension.
Hope you enjoyed today's inspiration!
