Video: Valentine Countdown Calendar
Hello Crafters! It's Kelly Taylor here and today I have a a little something different for you! You guys know I love stretching my supplies to get the most out of them. So today instead of using the 3D Matchbox Fancy Die as a matchbox I used it to create a Valentine's Day countdown calendar for my kids!
The video below shows you have to do each step from die cutting to assembling to decorating!
(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch it HERE on YouTube.)
I chose to stamp some of our Deluxe Smooth White cardstock with the Mini Hearts Bold Prints in Mist Core Ink to add in a pattern. I also cut a few of the 3D Matchbox Fancy Die out of Cherry and Arctic cardstock.
The Number Candles were stamped in Intensified Black ink and colored before being die cut out with their coordinating dies. If you'd prefer not to color and die cut your numbers the Twelve Days of Christmas stamp set or the Months and Days stamp set would be great replacements. The single balloon from Bunch of Balloons was also stamped and colored, those I fussy cut.
I did a ton of die cutting for my decorations. I was able to use the Compact Cutter for almost all of it which was a huge time saver! I cut several of the hearts from the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies out of Cherry, Coral, Bermuda and Arctic cardstock. The Snowflake Corner Fancy Die was cut twice out of the white glitter paper from the Glitter Paper Basics pack and then I trimmed it apart as I needed.
The last bit of stamping was to include some Valentine's well wishes to my littles and the You're Mine Bundle was perfect! I stamped the sentiments in Pitch Black. (Psst. I have a trick in the video for stamping them all at once and easy clean up using the Scrubber Block and Ultra Clean Bundle)
I adhered all my decorations with the Hero Arts Precision Glue and then it was time to add the last details! I used Hero Pearls in White and Silver as well as the Lacquer Pens in both Crystal Clear and Sparkle Clear. These are great elements to add to fill in any gaps of your design!
I hope you enjoyed trying something a little different with me today! I'm so excited to fill this with goodies for my littles to enjoy. Thanks for joining me!

what does it mean when a die number begins with CM? Is this die not available any more or not at all?
I was looking at a new video by Kelly Taylor and she used the candle numbers and dies for the Valentine Heart countdown calendar.
Love the set but I definitely don’t want to cut everything out if I would give these for gifts.

I love this idea. Who says there are only Advent Calendars? This was so ingenious and pretty. I hope that your two kids enjoy this with the treats. Can your Mom make us all some chocolates? Thanks for sharing such great ideas with these products. Awesome!!!!
