Video: Turn a Cactus into a Witch!
Hello there, Michelle here. Today I have a tag and video to share with you where I am turning a cactus into a witch for a fun Halloween treat bag tag!
Here is the video showing how I made the tag:
(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)
I started off by doing my die cutting, I cut the Cactus Fancy Dies from Kiwi cardstock, the bat from Halloween Icons Fancy Dies from Pitch Black cardstock, the tag from Tag Infinity Fancy Dies from Passion Flower cardstock, and the hole reinforcer piece from Pitch Black cardstock. I cut all of these twice, apart from the hole reinforcer.
I die cut the witch hat from Hero Lifestyle Trick or Treat from Pitch Black cardstock, black glitter paper and Papaya cardstock. I added ink blending to the band on the hat using Tangerine Core Ink. I cut the pieces apart to create a sparkly black hat with an orange band, inlaying them onto the black layer.
I also added ink blending to the cactus with Fresh Lawn and Pine Core Inks.
For the tag, I added ink blending around the edges with Orchid, Amethyst and Grape Juice Core Ink. I then darkended it up further with Pitch Black Core Ink. I mixed Pitch Black Core Inker with a little water before splattering it onto the tag. I also splattered on Royal Purple + Gold Two-Tone Metallic Spray for some sparkle.
Once the tag was dry, I adhered the cactus on top using thin foam tape, followed by the hat with regaular thickness foam tape and Precision Glue. I added the bat and hole reinforcer piece with more Precision Glue.
I stamped a sentiment from Prayers Stamp & Cut onto Pitch Black cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the tag using foam tape.
I tied twine through the top of the tag and tied in a bow. To finish off, I added googly eyes to the cactus. I think this takes the tag from spooky to cute!
I hope I have inspired you to have fun with crafting and mix and match different die sets! Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful day!
