Video: Shake Up Your Birthday Cards
Hey everyone it's Dana here with you today. We are shaking things up with a shaker card today and a rainbow one which is is even better. Join in with A Blog Named Hero and shake things up this month with the December challenge.
Let's get started. You can watch the entire video below or HERE on the Hero Arts YouTube channel.
For my card I started with fun colors of Hero Arts Premium Cardstock. The colors I used were Cherry, Papaya, Canary, Meadow, Amethyst and Azalea. Using the Birthday Message Cover Plate, I die cut each piece of cardstock. Next it was time to stack them up.
Using Precision Glue, I started layering up my card panels in rainbow order. When I got to my third layer, I place a piece of an Acetate Sheet behind that layer. I continued layering up the colors and adding one additional piece of acetate behind my last two layers.
Now it was time to add the colorful background. Starting off with a card base made with Dove White cardstock, I inked blended on a colorful background using Hero Arts inks in the colors Cherry, Lemon Yellow, Green Apple, Summer Sky, and Amethyst with my Hero Arts Blending Brushes. These colors blended beautifully. Once the ink blending was complete, I made sure to heat set the ink.
For the filling of the shaker card, I used a combination of chunky glitter and clear beads. To add a little more depth to the card, I adhered thin foam strips to the die cut panel before adding my colorful card base. And this beautiful shaker is complete.
Don't forget to join in on the "Shake It Up" Challenge with A Blog Named Hero now through January 1st. We will be giving a $50 gift card randomly to one person who plays along, and another $50 gift card to one of our favorites!
