Video: Pattern Stamping with the October My Monthly Hero Kit

Oct 06, 2020 Channin Pelletier

Hello friends! It's Channin here with a new video and a couple of cards featuring the October 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit. In today’s video I will create a pair of elegant cards using the simple and handy pattern stamping technique!!

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.)

To create these cards I first die cut two ornaments, one out of a panel of Dove White cardstock and the other out of Paradise. I then also die cut a scrap of silver mirrored cardstock with the ornament twice to create toppers for my ornaments.

I then placed the remainder of the white panel in my MISTI and popped the white ornament inside. Next I arranged several stamps from the included stamp set over the ornament and stamped them in Aquatic Ink. I then cleaned the stamps but left them in place on my MISTI, removed the white ornament, placed the blue ornament inside the white panel, and then inked the stamps up in Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed in gold.

Next, I removed the stamps, then positioned some new stamps and stamped and gold heat embossed a new section of the white ornament. Then like before, I cleaned the stamps, removed the white ornament popped in the blue, and stamped this new section in Aquatic Ink.

I repeated this process of stamping different areas of the ornaments, with the one addition of Pool Party Reactive Ink and white embossing powder, until both ornaments were covered with images. When both ornaments were stamped I then stamped and silver embossed a string and sentiment onto an A2 panel of Paradise and Adriatic cardstock.

I adhered the panels onto two A2 top-folding card bases and added foam tape to the backside of the ornaments. Next, I adhered the toppers to the ornaments and then adhered them to the card front. Lastly I finished the cards by adhering the bows I created with gold cord.

I hope you enjoyed my card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hi Channin, I love your ornament cards! This MMH Kit is beyond fabulous. I can’t wait until mine arrives! It’s so helpful to have the mirror images of the birds and the garland stamps. I will definitely try your technique. Thanks so much for the video and the tip about using the die cut cardstock scrap as a jig!

Such pretty card using the same techniques except different colors. They do look different, not like mass produced. Very clever!
