Good morning! Jess here with a video tutorial using inked stencil and dry embossing to create a faux letterpress look for your holiday cards!

I started by inking the Festive Star and Bauble stencil with Silver Shimmer Delicata ink. Then I placed the stencil onto an A2 card panel ink side down and ran it through my die-cutting machine using an embossing pad instead of a cutting pad. The embossing pad impressed the stencil design into the card panel and the ink stayed in the depressions of the card panel creating the look of letterpress. I blasted it with a heat gun to set the silver ink and then die-cut the menorah from Happy Hanukkah Frame Cuts on the front of the card base.

Next I placed the card base inside my stamp positioning tool and inlaid the menorah stamp from Happy Hanukkah inside the die-cut area. I closed the lid of the tool to pick up the stamp and then placed the sentiment on the lid. I opened up the card base and stamped the menorah and sentiment inside with Versamark and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder.

Then I stamped the rest of the sentiment on dark blue cardstock and heat-embossed it with the same silver embossing powder. I trimmed that down to a label and adhered it to the front of the card with foam mounting tape. Finally I colored the flames of the menorah with Copic markers and added a layer of Spectrum Noir clear sparkle to the entire menorah.

You can watch the video tutorial below for step by step instructions on how to create this look and some ideas on how to create a similar look for different holidays! If you have problems viewing the video please try watching it at our YouTube channel HERE.

I hope this gives you some new ways to use your stencils and dies! Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful week!

Please tell me where the bar magnet was purchased and what the dimensions and cost are.

I ordered a set but they were too thick and wouldn’t work in the MISTI.

Thank you for the information I really want these bar magnets! I really need these bar magnets.
