Video: Hot Foiling on Vellum
Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a Happy New Year's card (and video) to share with you using the Twinkling Stars Hot Foil Plate and Classic Vellum Layering Paper for a fun window design.
Here's the video showing how I made the card:
(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)
I started off by hot foiling the Twinkling Stars Hot Foil Plate onto a panel of Classic Vellum Layering Paper. This did foil really nicely, but it helps to heat up the plate for longer and add more pressure when foiling on vellum vs cardstock.
I then took an A2 sized white card base made from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock. I die cut the largest of the Diamond Infinity Dies on the front panel to create a window. I then adhered the vellum piece behind. I die cut another panel of white cardstock with the same die, just slightly smaller in size than the card base. This was adhered inside the card to cover the adhesive.
I took the smaller numbers in the Number Zero, Number Two and Number Four Fancy Dies sets and die cut them from Gold Glitter Paper with double sided adhesive sheet on the back. I also cut them another two times from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock. I adhered the numbers one on top of another, so that there were two layers of white cardstock, followed by the glitter paper on top.
They were then adhered to the card base. Since I used adhesive sheet, you cannot see the adhesive through the vellum. I stamped a sentiment from Hero Greetings Merry Christmas onto Pitch Black cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder, heat set and cut into a strip. It was adhered to the card with black foam tape to finish.
I think foiling on vellum gives a nice soft look and perfect for a window card! Thank you so much for stopping by today, happy foiling!
