Video: Heart Framed Love Birds

Hello! Today I'm sharing a heart framed scene card with the Love Birds Stamp & Cut images and Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies.

Watch the video below to see how I created both die cut and embossed heart frames with the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies as well as how I did a little creative masking to the birds to appear to be "sitting" on the branch with their tail feathers hanging out the back:

I started the card design by watercoloring an ombre background with Liquid Watercolors in Strawberry, Pink, and White.

On another piece of white cardstock the third largest heart from the Nesting Hearts Infinity Die Collection was die cut. The next two largest hearts were then embossed instead of die cut using rubber mats in place of cutting pads in a die cutting machine. The effect reinforces the love theme while keeping the focus on the cutout scene.

Hearts from the Love Birds Stamp & Cut set were stamped above the embossed hearts using Intense Black Ink. Sentiments from the stamp set were stamped with Crimson and Rose Madder inks. The hearts were colored in with Copic Markers and the heart panel was popped up over the watercolored ombre panel with foam adhesive squares.

The birds and branch were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. A bit of masking was done with the birds to make it appear the birds are sitting on the branch. The images were die cut, adhered together and then colored with the following Copic Marker color combinations:

Bird (on left): R30, R32, R35, YR01, YR04

Bird (on right): R000, R30, R32, YR01, YR04

Branch & leaves: E30, E31, E55, G00, G02

The images were secured to the heart frame with foam adhesive and white pen detail was added. Music notes from the stamp set were stamped with white Staz On Ink. If the ink isn't dark enough for your liking, go over it with a white opaque pen like I did here.

The design was finished with a scattering of Ombre Blush sequins and Glossy Accents on the beaks and claws.

Thank you so much for joining me today!

I love your sweet love birds! Thanks for the video! I love how the male is firmly gripping the branch, but that little lady is ROCKING to the music and dancing off the branch, I get visions of my little parakeet that used to dance back and forth across the perches in her birdcage!
