Video: Color Layering Orca
Good morning! Jess here with a video featuring the new Color Layering Orca set and some bright and cheery ink blending for a fun ocean scene!
You can watch the video below or over on our YouTube channel. If you're having problems viewing the video please click HERE.
To start I stamped the layers of the Color Layering Orca with Charcoal, Intens-ified Black, and Contour Ink. I stamped two whales and die cut them with the coordinating Frame Cuts. Then I ink blended a background with Rose Madder, Cotton Candy, and Soft Vanilla ink.
Then I die-cut the Surf's Up Fancy Die from Periwinkle cardstock. I didn't run the bottom of the die design through my die-cutting machine so it created an extra big wave that practically covered my entire A2 panel. I used scissors to trim the end of the wave that wasn't cut with the die. Then I blended Cornflower, Deep Ocean, and Navy ink along the bottom of the wave and the bottom of the crest.
I die-cut the wave foam from Dove White cardstock and adhered it to the wave with Precision Liquid Glue. Then I adhered the wave to my blended background and added the whales. I stamped a sentiment from Color Layering Orca onto Pitch Black cardstock with Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat-embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I finished the card by adding the sentiment with foam mounting tape.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Awesome card, Jess! I will be putting this set in the cart. I love the colors you chose for this card! The sky meets the wave and the difference in colors is stunning! Love the punny sentiment, too!

Thank you so much for the video tutorial, stay safe and have a wonderful week.
Very interesting on how you made the wave bigger and also how you stamped the layering orca. Ink blending was superb. Thank you.
