Video: Color Layering Holiday Cards | Color Layering With Yana Series
Hello Hero Arts fans! Welcome back for another episode of the Color Layering video series!
In this video & episode I am taking a closer look at the Holiday Color Layering sets to create simple and easy to replicate/mass produce Christmas cards!
Watch the video tutorial below to learn how I made the cards I'm sharing today.
If you’re having a problem viewing this video, please try watching it HERE in HD on YouTube.
The two sets I will be working with today are Color Layering Trimmings and Color Layering Poinsettia. Both are fabulous Color Layering stamp sets that are great for quick and easy Christmas cards.
I wanted to make simple cards that wouldn’t be hard to replicate and if needed would be easy to mass produce and so I settled on my favorite card layout - a framed one.
This basically comes down to stamping whatever image you want to use on the perimeter of the card going slightly outside the edge creating a frame for a beautiful Holiday message in the center.
I used Moss and Forever Green ink to stamp pine branches and Ombre Brown ink to stamp pinecones.
Once my frame stamping was completed I stamped a sentiment using new Peace Love & Joy set to stamp in Navy ink for the word "Joy" and white heat embossed "Wishing You" and "This Season" on red cardstock.
I also used sequins from the Poinsettia sequins mix and I added a bunch of small and medium sequins in red onto my card mixing them in with the the pine cones.
This card took less than 10 minutes to make and if you are looking for easy Holiday cardmaking ideas to mass produce - this card is a good example plus it doesn’t use a lot of supplies.
For my second project for today I used the color Layering Poinsettia stamp set. This is also an easy project, but not quite as easy as the previous one as the poinsettia image has 3 layers to it plus there’s 2 leaves with 2 layers each.
Here I went with my favorite color combo for red poinsettias - Pale Tomato, Red Royal and Mulled Wine. This poinsettia comes with 2 leaf images and the way they are designed you don’t have to do any masking to stamp them next to the flower to create a seamless look - they fit perfectly in-between specific petals.
I used the same Love, Peace Joy stamp set to stamp a sentiment for this card and here I did so in black ink. This actually was a one line sentiment “May your holidays be filled with”, but that didn’t work for my card, so I cut it into pieces that made more sense for this particular card design.
I adhered my background panel onto an A2 white side folding card base, foam mounted the sentiment strip on top and dressed this card up using several gold and white sequins from the Champagne sequin mix.
Have fun stamping!
Beautiful cards.
