Video: Birthday Shaker with the February My Monthly Hero Kit

Hello, friends! It’s Channin here with a video demonstrating how I created this fun shaker card with the February My Monthly Hero Kit

I love the sequin mix included in this month’s kit!! It actually inspired my color palette for today’s card! And with such beautiful sequins, I couldn’t resist making a shaker card! Please check out the video below to see the whole process.

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.)

First, I stamped the background stamp from the kit in Raspberry Jam Shadow Ink on an A2 panel of Dove White cardstock. I then colored the images in with Copics. Once I finished coloring, I then die cut the panel with the large cake die included in the kit.

Next using the panel as guide, I positioned a sentiment within the window of the cake and then stamped the sentiment in Raspberry Jam on an A2 panel of Peony cardstock. After I stamped my sentiment, I then used the cake panel again to help me position the cake die once more but this time on the peony panel and then die cut it.

Once die cut I then adhered the panel onto an A2 top-folding white card base. Next, I adhered an A2 panel of acetate to the Copic colored panel. I then added foam tape to the peony panel, framing the cake to create the well. Next, I filled the well with the sequin mix and then sealed my card shut with the top panel.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!

I will be trying out your idea of stamping with a colour other than black. Really like how you took your inspiration from the sequin mix – what a great result! @pabeysek
