Hi crafty friends! Natasha Polite of Polite Creations joining you today with a video tutorial featuring the July Layering Stencil of the Month from the Hero Studio release.

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)

This card features texture created through mixed media techniques. I create a background by smooshing drops of Reactive Inkers in the colors Pool Party, Blue Hawaii, and Sea Salt onto Luxe White Watercolor Paper. I then stencil the smaller fish and details using Blue Hawaii Reactive, Purple Galaxy Reactive and Onyx Pigment ink pads. Gold Hero Paste is used for the coral.

The larger fish is tinted White Hero Paste. I use Creamsicle and Berry Smoothie Reactive Inkers to do this. If you do not have the reinkers, but have the ink pads, you can smoosh the ink pads on your work surface and add in Hero Paste. I stencil the fish onto a clear card panel. Once they are dry, I stencil details in using Papaya Core Ink, Berry Smoothie, Taffy, and Fruit Punch. Foam squares are added behind the fish and the clear panel is popped onto the background panel.

The sentiment is from the July Card Kit of the Month and stamped using the Onyx pigment ink. For my finishing touches, I add large Clear Enamel Dots to mimic bubbles in the water.

I hope you enjoyed my cardmaking process. If you have not already, be sure to grab the Layering Stencil of the Month while supplies last.

Happy Crafting,
