Video: Acrylic Pouring for Cardmakers
Good day to you! Janette here sharing with you acrylic pouring for cardmakers. By now you've probably seen this swoon-worthy technique done on large canvases creating beautiful abstract designs. Today, I'm showing you how I've downsized the technique and how to keep the mess manageable. I'm creating gorgeous shimmer and shine with Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic Inks instead of traditional acrylics.
These are just 3 of the 13 panels I created within one pouring session. Watch the video below for tips and tricks, and to make the most of all the paint.
If you are having trouble viewing the video, please try watching it here over on YouTube.
I've featured the green, blue, purple, gold and pewter Glimmer Metallic Inks in combination with pouring mediums, white pouring paint and silicone cell creator.
To finish the canvases into cards I've adhered them onto heavyweight white cardstock and adorned them with simple sentiments from Snarky Mix & Match Messages and To Seize or Not to Seize.
Simple white detail heat embossing or stamping in black ink allow the background to have a dominant presence.
Sentiment die cuts are another perfect simple detail to convey a message while keeping the background focal point. I've used Hello and Hugs from the March My Monthly Hero Kit (still available!) and the Smile Stamp & Cut.
Thank you for spending a few minutes with Hero Arts today. Have a wonderful day and we'll see you soon!
I love paint pouring, haven’t done it yet, but love watching it done! But never thought to do it on cards before!! Love all those cards you made! And you even used your mess on the desk, well done, I would have found a way to do that as well, I don’t think I could have tossed all that paint, I would have found a way to use it all up!! Love all of them, hard to pick a favorite! Thanks for sharing!
These are such fun backgrounds! I love how you are able to create them for card panels. :)
Wow! Fabulous backgrounds! <3
AWESOME cards – the sentiments are really fun!
Wow, Janette, your cards and tutorial are just fantastic! You have a great teaching style. Thanks for all the tips you shared, too, especially on cost saving on the flow mediums and stretching all the mixed paints. The sentiments are really fun, too!
