Win a Sold Out Kit! Favorites from the Vault Giveaway #3

Hero Arts

Happy Saturday! We're back with our third and final Favorites from the Vault giveaway opportunity!

During a recent warehouse cleaning session, we were happily surprised to find some hidden treasures -- a handful of past kit items. We gathered every last piece from a few select kits, and now you have a chance to win some SOLD OUT My Monthly Hero kit products!

We may have saved the best for last. You decide...

Who remembers the very FIRST My Monthly Hero kit? The month, October...the year, 2015. Who also remembers how quickly that kit sold out? (Back then, there were no My Monthly Hero subscriptions offered.) The beautiful color layered poinsettias came onto the scene and were a smashing hit right out of the gate -- so much so, that the kit sold out in just a few hours and our website experienced some hiccups due to the heavy traffic. We've learned and grown since then, but will never forget the excitement and joy of that very first kit. It holds a special place in our hearts as we now celebrate the MMH program's 5th anniversary with you.

As the ultimate throwback, today we have 5 sets of stamps and dies from the October 2015 kit to give away to 5 lucky winners!

TO ENTER: Comment on this blog post and let us know one piece of stamping wisdom that you wish you'd known when you started stamping! The entry deadline is Thursday, October 29 at 11:59pm PT. We will announce the 5 randomly chosen winners here on the blog.

Now we get to announce the winners from last weekend's Favorites from the Vault giveaway!

The 5 randomly chosen winners will each receive stamps and dies from the sold out October 2018 kit:

• Stephanie Benoit
• Julia Dvorak
• Mary Gilmer
• Tracy Kent
• Sandy Koca

Congratulations to all! Please send an email to info@heroarts.com to claim your prizes and include "Vault Winner" in the subject line.

Last but not least, we want to remind you that time is running out on our classic kits sale. Celebrate 5 years of My Monthly Hero with $5 off a fabulous selection of classic kits, while supplies last! The sale price ($29.99) is reflected automatically in your shopping cart -- no code needed. This offer expires October 31. Check out all eight of the classic kits on sale here.

Thanks for stopping by and celebrating our anniversary with us. Wishing you a lovely weekend!

In the beginning I wish I would have know about the different inks and different cardstock and papers. And what works better together. I love stamping and it is so addictive! Another thing I wish I would have known is I didn’t have to buy everything I saw. It would have saved me a lot of money…then I could have spent it on a new stamp release, because there is always something new coming out. Research first!

I wish I would have saved more of my first cards I made with stamps. Not only to see the stamping technique and improvement I’ve made but also to encourage me to find those old stamps and create new ideas based on current trends! . Thank you for your environmental conscience.

I wish I had just made more cards with the supplies I already had, and the techniques that I already knew. People enjoyed them just because they were given from the heart. I worried too much about the final product. I’m glad I have better quality cardstock, learned to die cut, and improved my techniques, but it is still the personal touch and what I write inside my cards that are the most important things.

Things I wish I had understood earlier in my card making:
    1. Using high quality, extra thick, card stock and using layering techniques can add so much depth and richness to a card.
    2. How important using the right kind of ink pad for the job is!
    3. That exploring what a variety of brands have to offer can enrich your card making journey and can help you develop your own style. At first I tried to dd too much until I realized that I much prefer more simple designs.

I wish I had known about sticky grid paper when I started stamping. Originally meant for holding down dies in the die cutting maching, I use sticky paper in my stamping tool for easy, accurate and pleasurable stamping. This is really usefully for placement of stamps, centering sentiments and layering stamps.
