Two Sweet Valentine's Day Cards
Spread some love to those special people in your life with a sweet handmade Valentine's Day card! Today I have two cards to share using some of the wonderful products from the January release.
The first card features the adorable Flower Girls stamp set. I stamped the sweet little girl holding a heart bouquet on watercolor paper and colored the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. And then cut it out using the coordinating Frame Cuts.
Next I trimmed a piece of Peony cardstock to 4" x 5.25" and adhered a doily and tied on some twine to create a place to ground girl image. I popped up the image with some foam adhesive and adhered it to the panel. Finally, I stamped one of the five love-themed sentiments from the stamp set using black ink and popped up the panel on a Dove White card base.
Next is a card featuring a die cut background and some paper piecing using the Hearts and Blossoms Cover Plate.
I die cut the image from Peony cardstock and then adhered it to a card base made from Azalea cardstock with Precision Glue. Then I die cut the Cover Plate two more times from Arctic and Mustard cardstock, making sure to save all the negative pieces that might normally be thrown away.
Next, use the die cuts to paper piece the centers of the flowers and the background area, leaving the flowers empty so they remain bright pink. Some Precision Glue and a tweezers will make this process quick and easy! And as a final step I run the panel through my die cutting machine just to flatten everything out. This assures all the paper piecing is flush and gives a smooth and clean finish.
You could add any message you want to a card like this, but I used the "Happy Valentine's Day" message from the Peonies Bunch stamp set.
Hope you enjoyed these two cards and are inspired to spread some love!
