Uncommon Coloring
Clare Prezzia
I love finding ways to get color in my stamped images without actually doing much coloring. Today's giraffe pair is just one way to do that!
I stamped the new Loving Giraffes in Rose Madder on watercolor cardstock. I then added a light wash of pink using a pale pink ZIG brush and some water. And ta-da! All colored! I added a little more color indirectly by stamping a bow from Otter Family Stamp & Cut in Soft Apricot on Sunshine Layering paper, die cutting, and then adhering it to one of the giraffes.
I then stamped the little Hugs and Kisses stamp in Navy - see how perfectly it nestles in between the giraffe necks? Love that! Most of the other little sentiment woodblock stamps from the 2018 Valentine catalog also fit perfectly inside!
With my main panel stamped, I then stamped a Sea Layering Paper card base with Tribal Stripes in Indigo. I also covered a scrap piece of darker Sea layering paper with Versamark, and heat embossed some Sparkle embossing powder. One of the long edges was cut with a scalloped scissors, and then I adhered it to the stamped card base with the giraffe panel.
This is a great technique if you're in a time pinch - or if you'd just rather avoid much coloring, like me. ;)
Thanks for stopping in and God bless!
Cool coloring for a lovely card :)
Very CUTE! Love the crazy colors!
