Triple Stamped Patterns
Jessica Frost-Ballas
Good morning! Jess here with my first post for 2019! Today I'm going to show you a fun way to triple stamp a solid image using the Love Little Heart wood block stamp!
To start I placed a piece of white cardstock in my MISTI and held it in place with a bar magnet. Then I placed the Love Little Heart stamp where I wanted to stamp it. While it was in place I took a few post-it notes and stuck them to the ruler on the edge of the MISTI to provide a guide of where to position my woodblock stamp each time in order to get a repeat stamping in the correct position.
(You could also carefully peel the cling part of the rubber stamp off the wood block, stick it to your MISTI lid and stamp it like a normal stamp. When you're done using it you can peel it off the lid and restick it to your wood block. No stamps will be harmed in this process.) ;)
Next I inked the stamp with the Pink to Red Ombre ink pad and stamped it on my white cardstock. This is your first stamping! I let the ink dry for a few seconds while I inked the Floral Doily Bold Prints with Intense Black Ink. I pressed the woodblock stamp to the inked Floral Doily Bold Prints to pick up the pattern on the solid stamp. Then I used my post-it note guides and pressed it over the ombre design. When I lifted the stamp I had this pretty intricate pattern layered over the solid ombre background. And that was my second stamping!
I cleaned off the stamp carefully to remove the black ink and then inked it with Versamark. Again I used the guides to align the stamp and then stamped over the image with a solid layer of Versamark. I heat-embossed it with Sparkle Embossing Powder and that was my third stamping! Then I stamped the beginning of the sentiment from Love Stamp & Cut onto black cardstock with Versamark and heat-embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it down to a thin label and adhered it over my ombre image with foam mounting tape. Then I trimmed that panel down to 4" by 5.5". Finally, I swiped the same Pink to Red Ombre ink pad over the long edges of an A2 panel. I pressed a Versamark pad over the edges and heat-embossed it with the same Sparkle Embossing Powder. Then I popped up the white panel with foam mounting tape to finish the card!
You could do this technique a million different ways with different inks, stamps, embossing powders and I hope this inspires you to give it a try! I'd love to see what you create!
So simple, so beautiful. Love it. Thanks.
I adore the card.
Beautiful!
Jessica,
