Tone-on-Tone Noel Background

Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card to share with you using Noel Bold Prints. This is such a wonderful stamp that can be used as a background stamp or combined with other stamps as more of a focal point. Today I thought it would work perfectly for a tone-on-tone background.

Poinsettia by Michelle Short for Hero Arts

I started off my card by taking a panel of Hero Hues Sand Cardstock and stamping the Noel Bold Prints on to it using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. This gives a lovely tone-on-tone look. I set the piece aside to dry while I worked on my other elements.

I took the Paper Layering Poinsettia Die and cut this from Hero Hues Cherry Cardstock. I then cut the leaf three times from Classic Vellum Layering Paper. For some added definition, I blended the outside edges of the poinsettia petals with Red Royal Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. I then took the gold ink from the Gold & Pewter Glimmer Metallic Inks set and splattered this over the poinsettia petals and leaves with a paint brush. These were then also set aside to dry.

I took the sentiment from the Hero Greetings Christmas Messages set and stamped it on to Hero Hues Pitch Black Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was then cut in to a strip.

I took a Hero Hues Dove White Top Folding Card and added the background panel on top. I then cut the card down so that it was 4" across (so that the poinsettia could hang over the edge but the card will still fit in a normal sized envelope). The poinsettia was added with Precision Glue, adding one layer on top of another. The leaves were added with tape runner, adding a small amount at the bottom where it would not be seen. The sentiment was then added on with foam tape. To finish off, I added some gem stones to the center of the poinsettia, as well as around it.

I really love using Bold Prints in this way, I think that they give something extra to the card. Thank you so much for stopping by today. Happy stamping!
