Thinking of You Flowers
Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card to share with you using the Foliage & Flowers Fancy Die that was released as an add-on alongside the September 2022 My Monthly Hero Kit.
These dies can be used to represent any flower or foliage, but I thought it would be fun to try and make them in to sunflowers for my card. I used the two flower layers separately but you can also layer them up for added dimension.
I started off by die cutting the Foliage & Flowers Fancy Die from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock. Using Ink Blending Brushes, I blended on Dandelion and Butter Bar Core Inks for the flowers and Kiwi, Green Apple and Fresh Lawn Core Inks for the leaves.
I die cut another two flowers and blended these with Caramel and Cup O' Joe Core Inks before cutting the centres out and adhering them over the yellow ones using thin foam tape.
I shaped some of the petals to bend upwards and some downwards, to give some added interest and dimension.
I took an A2 white card base and scored horizontal lines on to it using a bone folder and score board. The flowers were adhered with thin foam tape and the leaves popped underneath using Precision Glue.
I stamped the sentiment from Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL on to Pitch Black cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few gold gems.
This card works perfectly for the new Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero challenge "Die-lightful" which is to use your dies in any which way you want! Here I changed the dies slightly by cutting a layer for the centers. There are so many different ways that you can use dies, so we hope that you will play along now through October 2!
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day!
