The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Blog Hop + Giveaways!

Hello friends! We are interrupting this weekend's regularly scheduled Countdown to Creativity just briefly to join our friend Kathy's The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge blog hop! Kathy is a great friend of Hero Arts, and we are so very proud of her for inspiring the crafting community to just relax a bit and COLOR. It really is good for the soul! Jessica has a gorgeous card to show you, which features some new products that are also releasing on Monday as optional add-ons to the My Monthly Hero kit. While commenting on the Countdown to Creativity blog posts this weekend enters you into the drawing for a free kit, if you comment on this post, you'll be entered into a drawing to win the products Jessica used today! Be sure to read to the bottom of this post for all of the details. Now, take it away, Jess!

Good morning! Jess here representing Hero Arts for Kathy Racoosin's The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Blog Hop! It's the 10th Coloring Challenge and Kathy's celebrating all month long! Hero Arts is joining in the fun today and will be giving away the three products I used for my card. They are add-ons for our June My Monthly Hero kit.

Part of the fun of the coloring challenge is that there are really no rules. You don't have to color every part of your card...you don't even have to make a card! The idea is that you just find a little time everyday for 30 days to color something! My card just has a little coloring today but even a little coloring gives me the chance to practice some shading. To start I stamped the cute seagull and the piling from Seas the Day Seagulls onto white cardstock with Intense Black ink and colored them with Copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. Next I die-cut a circle from vellum using our Nesting Circle Infinity Dies.  I stamped the waves and sentiment onto the vellum with Versamark and heat-embossed them with silver embossing powder.

Next I blended Tide Pool, Antigua, and Ocean inks onto a piece of watercolor paper.  Once I was done blending I spritzed it with the Sea Foam Shimmer Spray that's included in the June My Monthly Hero kit. I let it dry completely and then stamped the panel with the Abstract Waves background stamp. I heat-embossed the waves with silver sparkle embossing powder and then trimmed the panel down to 4" by 5.25". I adhered that to a white card base and then adhered the vellum circle with vellum adhesive. I added the piling and seagull with foam mounting tape to finish the card. It's nice how that little touch of Copic coloring makes the card pop! :)

As I mentioned earlier, this post is part of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Gina K Designs and Honey Bee Stamps is your next stop. If you get lost or encounter a broken link the full list is included below:

Save Jessica used some brand new products on her card today - Seas The Day Seagull stamps as well as the matching Frame Cuts, and the gorgeous new Abstract Waves Bold Prints. They will all be launching on Monday June 4 at 10am PST/1pm EST with the June My Monthly Hero kit. But you have an opportunity to win all three products! Just leave a comment by Saturday June 9 at midnight pacific telling us your favorite thing about the seashore, and we will announce our winner the following week!

We'll be back later today for our next Countdown post - we'll see you then!

This card makes you think it might be fantastic to be a pelican. Sitting in the middle of the ocean with the cool tropical breezes blowing through your feathers sounds like a wonderful life to me. Thanks for the fantastic inspiration.

I like the sand at beaches. Each beach has different sand color & texture from the surf crushing up shells & coral.

There is nothing better than walking along the beach with my feet in the water. The louder and higher the waves, the better! It is a time for prayer and reflection as well as a time to bask in the power and might of God.

Wow, what a stunning card, I’m just mesmerized with those waves on the card, which happens to be my favorite part of the seashore. Living in Florida, I have a lot of opportunities to head to the beach and just watch the waves crashing to the shore. It’s entrancing!
