Textured Poinsettia
Welcome back, crafty friends! I am back with an amazing texture technique using the new Poinsettia Stained Glass Pattern Stencil, Berry Hero Wax and gold embossing powder. I learned this technique from the 2024 Mixed Media Stamp-Along. BreAnn Loveland taught the class and I have used the technique multiple times.
For this card, I used a heavy weight cardstock and spread Berry Hero Wax over the entire stencil. Before peeling up the stencil, I sprinkled gold embossing powder over the wax. I lightly smooshed the embossing powder into the wax. Be careful not to press too much or it will bleed under the stencil. Then peel the stencil off and wash the wax and embossing powder off.
Then use your heat tool to melt the embossing powder. It will melt and bubble the wax but it looks so good. I used my heat tool over the entire panel, not just where I had embossing powder. After it cooled, I trimmed it down to slightly smaller than an A2 panel.
For the sentiment I die cut a Rounded Jewel infinity Die from white cardstock. I used a sentiment and floral from the Holiday Collage Hero Transfers to create a focal point. Then I die cut another Rounded Jewel from Pitch Black Cardstock and matted it to the back.
That's it! Isn't that a bold impact from an easy technique? I love this technique because you can experiment with the wax or paste and the embossing powders you use. What combination will you be trying?
