Switch Up Your Design With One Stamp Set

Good morning everyone. It's Dana Joy with you today. Let's switch up our card design using only one stamp. The new Hero Arts Floral Strawberries Line Art is perfect for this kind of technique. Just a little bit of masking paper and your design will be totally new.

For my cards today I'm going to share a card that is in the Hero Arts Summer Catalog that I created a few months ago. By using that same stamp set I was able to create a totally different card with the same amount of beauty.

Let's start with the card I made for the catalog. This design was kept pretty simple with just a layering of strawberries at the top of a piece of Dove White cardstock. To achieve this design, I stamped the image repeatedly on the top of a card panel in Intens-ified Black ink. I stamped the image again on a separate piece of cardstock and colored it with my Copic markers. Using the coordinating die, I cut out the colored piece and popped it up with foam tape in the center of the black and white image.

All I needed at this point was a sentiment from the same stamp set and a few sunset and green Hero Hues enamel dots. To ground the piece I layered it with Meadow cardstock and placed the panel on a Dove White Side Folded Card.

This design is super easy to create since there isn't a lot of coloring to be done.

Now it was time to switch up the design. My next card is still featuring the Hero Arts Floral Strawberries Line Art however with a little bit of masking we have a total different style card.

For this card I wanted to watercolor the image. I stamped the strawberries in Intens-ified Black ink once onto watercolor paper. Next I created several masks of the image. Now all I needed to do was cover up each section and repeat the design across the paper.

I heat set the ink just in case. Now it was time to color. I used the Hero Arts Strawberry, Dandelion, Leaf and Pine Liquid Watercolor. I mixed the colors to create custom colors, adding more or less water to get my various color tones.

Once the watercolor was dried, I trimmed the panel down using Rectangle Infinity Dies. To match up the red from the strawberry color, I watercolored a strip of paper to match and then heat embossed a birthday sentiment from the Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL. To add some drama to the card, I adhered the watercolor panel to Pitch Black cardstock and placed it on a Dove White Side Folded Card. A few gems finished off the card.

I hope I have inspired you to pull out your stamp sets and switch up the designs to create even more beautiful cards. If you post your cards on Instagram make sure to tag them #heroarts so we can see your work. Have a great day everyone.
