Sweet Valentine's Inspiration
Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing some "sweet" Valentine's Day inspiration! I get lots of inspiration from different baking and cake decorating accounts on Instagram, and I thought the beautifully detailed hearts in the new All My Love Decorative Hearts stamp set from this most recent My Monthly Hero release reminded me of those gorgeous sugar cookies that you see on Instagram! Let's get started with the details.
I began by heat embossing three of the hearts onto some kraft card stock using White Puff embossing powder to add lots of dimension. I fussy cut them out, not worrying about whether they were perfectly even, because sometimes even the best bakers can get blobby cookie cutouts!
After I'd finished my hearts, I used some blending brushes to add some Red Royal ink in the bottom corner of some beautiful red card stock (coming soon to the Hero Arts store! ;) ) I then dropped some of the White Liquid Watercolor onto a piece of laminated paper, picked it up with my wet paintbrush, and then flicked the white paint at the blended colored card stock to create some artistic splatters. I also die cut one of my favorite Stamp & Cuts: Love Stamp & Cut three times from white card stock and adhered them together to create a dimensional die cut.
I adhered the cookies using liquid and dimensional adhesive, then added the sentiment using liquid adhesive.
Well, that's all for me today! I hope this project jumpstarted your Valentine's Day creativity! Thanks for stopping by, and have a marvelous day! Don't forget to come back tomorrow for Day 1 of the February My Monthly Hero sneak peeks! :)
Love the sugar cookies! Such a “sweet” way of using the hearts on a card.
Great job fussy cutting. I can’t wait to see the rest of the kit.
I really love this card the color chosen for the hearts look amazing with red.
This card is amazing! I love how the embossing powder is so thick and stands out so much. It really does look like lace cookies. WOW! WOW! WOW!
I am going to have to get some white puffy embossing powder! This is a great Valentine card.
