Sweet and Simple Sympathy Card
Hello Crafters! It's Kelly Taylor here to share a sweet and simple sympathy card. These cards are often the most difficult to make but the most meaningful to receive.
The Color Layering Dove is a perfect image for any sympathy card. I used the Color Layering Dove Bundle but you could certainly just use the stamp and stamp layers onto your card base. I stamped the outline in Intens-ified Black ink and the shadow layer in Charcoal Core ink. I then cut out the dove with the coordinating die.
Next I die cut the Lily of the Valley Fancy Die out of Dove White, Meadow, and Shamrock cardstock. I added a bit of shading to the stem and leaves using Blending Brushes. The Meadow cardstock was shaded with Forever Green ink. I used Pine ink to shade the Shamrock cardstock. While I had my Blending Brushes out I used them to add a bit of Dusty Blue ink around a 4" x 5.25" panel of Dove White cardstock.
In order to add a little dimension to the actual flowers I used a light and medium gray alcohol marker as well as a very light green for the flowers that were angled to be more open. The beautiful Color Layering Dove is so detailed we want to make sure our flowers have some detail too!
I adhered the Lily of the Valley Fancy Die pieces to the white panel, letting them slightly hang off the bottom. This gives the perspective that the flowers are closer to the viewer than the dove. This is important because the dove and flowers are a different size scale. I also adhered the dove using Precision Glue and then moved onto to stamping the sentiment. I used Pitch Black ink to stamp the sentiment directly onto the panel. The panel was then mounted onto a Periwinkle cardstock base. To finish off the cards I added a bit of Crystal Clear Lacquer to the inside of the flowers for some shine.
Thank you so much for joining me. I hope this helps make those challenging cards a bit easier!
