Today we're so excited to share that our Summer 2020 release is now available in the Hero Arts store! The new products are so much fun, and expand on two of our most popular lines - HeroScapes and Peek-A-Boo! Also included in this release are two new Partner stamp sets, celebrating our industry friends. We will have separate blog hops in the coming days to highlight our Partner sets with Ink Blot Shop and Honey Bee Stamps, so watch for those! And also now available on our website is the wonderful The Stamping Village Thinking of You stamp set.
You can flip through our beautiful Summer 2020 Catalog below. It is packed full of ideas and inspiration (including color recommendations for HeroScapes!). Or you can shop for all of the products in our store.
Four of the new products in this release are Peek-A-Boo Doors Mini Infinity Dies, in Circle, Oval, Square and Rectangle. Jayne from our Creative Team had the brilliant idea to create a set of Infinity Dies to cut Peek-A-Boo doors or windows anywhere on a card, and passed that idea along to our product designers. Now that her idea has come to life, let's see what she's come up with, using them!
I've had so much fun using the new Peek-A-Boo Door Mini Infinity Die sets this week and I'm thrilled about the endless ways to use these versatile dies. Here’s a small sample of ideas for using these dies and a few reasons why I love these sets so much.
Each set of Peek-A-Boo Door Mini Infinity Dies includes various sized dies that can be used to hide sentiments and images behind hinged doors. Plus, the scored door edge can easily be placed in any position on a card to create doors that swing open from either side, top or bottom. For my first card, I used the Sunflower Field HeroScape set to stamp a beautiful landscape onto a card. Then, using a small Square Peek-A-Boo Door Mini Infinity Die, I cut a single door and hid a tiny, embossed sentiment from the Bookcase Peek-A-Boo Parts set behind the flap. For extra interest, I used a pair of Square Infinity Dies to cut a frame around the door.
With these dies, you can also make as many peek-a-boo doors as you’d like, placing them wherever you’d like on your card. Not only can you use different sized dies, but with several sets, it’s possible to make different shaped doors on a card for a fun design. For my second card, I used the Tulip Field HeroScape set to stamp several balloons and a field of tulips onto a card. I cut three different oval doors with the Oval Peek-A-Boo Doors Mini Infinity Dies into the stamped panel. Then, I stamped birthday sentiments from the Wish Big Peek-A-Boo Parts set onto die cut clouds and positioned them behind the doors.
Using any large Peek-A-Boo Door Die, it’s very easy to hide other flat items behind a die cut flap. For example, I created a hidden pocket for a small monetary gift or gift card on my next card. To start, I simply die cut a peek-a-boo door with a large Rectangle Peek-A-Boo Door Mini Infinity Die into a cardstock panel. Next, I inked the center of the door with assorted Reactive Inks and then added sentiments and a die-cut and colored tulip from the Hero Florals Tulips set. Behind the door, I stamped a panel and sentiment with the Wish Big Peek-A-Boo Parts set and positioned them behind the door, allowing room to easily insert and remove the gift.
And finally, because shaker cards can be so much fun, I hid a shaker element behind a peek-a-boo door for an unexpected surprise. After using the Sun Background stencil to ink my card front, I used a large Circle Peek-A-Boo Door Mini Infinity Die to cut a door at the center. I embellished the door with an image that I stamped with the Orange Blossoms set and die cut with the coordinating die. Before adding the panel to the card base, I stamped a sentiment from the Sunflower Field HeroScape set onto the card back, sprinkled some Ombre Sunshine sequins over the sentiment, and secured a piece of an acetate card panel behind the door opening.
I'm really looking forward to adding this interactive element to my cards. What will you hide behind your peek-a-boo doors?
