Stenciling with Glitter + Embossing Paste
Kelly Rasmussen
After spending three days at Creativation, I came home with such a grateful heart for all the wonderful people I met. This industry is full of truly kind and generous people and I'm so happy to be a part of this community of crafters. This card goes out to all of you!
I started out by die cutting a heart using the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies from some bright pink cardstock. Then I mixed some translucent embossing paste with glitter and smeared it over the Ornate Floral Stencil. I let this piece dry for about 30 minutes, while I worked on the rest of the card.

For the background I created a watercolor wash using Pewter Glimmer Metallic Inks. These inks amaze me every time I use them -- they mix with water just like our watercolor inks and the shine is incredible!
Next, I white heat embossed the sentiment from the You Are Loved Messages set onto a strip of Classic Vellum Layering Paper.

Once my stenciled heart was dry, I assembled all the pieces of the card onto a white card base. And a scattering of a few tiny white hearts finished off the card!
Thanks for joining me today, hope you have an amazing day!

Gorgeous Kelly. I think it’s a beautiful tribute to the kind and generous people of the craft community. The watercoloured background has a lot of depth in it, great! Thank you so much for sharing.
Stunning card, Kelly. I love the stenciling on the heart. I never remember using my stencils in this way. Your technique has inspired my to get them out and start creating with them.
Beautiful stencil work with an awesome background! :)
What lovely texture! It’s so beautiful!
I kept looking at card and thought the background around the heart was cut out not just painted- very interesting!
