Sprinkling Love

Jun 19, 2020 Sally Traidman

Hi friends! Today I decided to build some tone on tone layers with primarily one clear set - Affirmation Messages! I knew I wanted the Watering Can and Flowers Fancy Die to be the main focus. I randomly stamped the "hello" in Key Lime Fizz Reactive Ink all over a white card. I then took the very tiny heart and stamped it in Green Hills Ink wherever there was a large white space. I tried pink first, but it was too bright. Then I took the tiny tulip in the same set and randomly stamped it in both colors all over a smaller piece of white.

I die cut the sprinkling can in several pieces of “gray” shades using any papers I had. I ended up liking the woodgrain paper the best because of the slight texture.

I then cut several tulips and leaves to gather a big bouquet. To break the tone on tone greens, I matted a tiny piece of yellow and pink behind to give a small contrast of color.  I foam tape mounted the can and then started filling it.

I cut a small tag in orange and stamped "sending love" (or you can use ANY tiny greeting) and tied it to the sprinkling can.

With my remaining scraps I made a tiny gift card that you could always use later.

So my friends, go sprinkle some good wishes and make a card for someone you’ve been thinking about. AND don’t forget all those GREAT DADS out there on Sunday!!!

Super project. I love the wood grain used for the sprinkling can. It gives a nice texture. Thanks for the inspiration.

Beautiful tulips in watering can, Sally! I love the photo with the pile of different cans – so fun to see all the options! Sweet gift tag too – love the sentiment tag slid onto the stem!!
