Spring Bow Banner

Rosie Lopez

Spring is on its way! Are you enjoying all the inspiration for the March Hero Studio release? Rosie here and I am bring even more inspiration by using The Whole Studio BONUS die to create a fun banner! I used my banner to decorate a shelf in my living room but it could easily work in an office or cubical too.

I started this project by using adorable bow die that comes with the purchase of The Whole Studio. This exclusive bow die is only available to subscribers of the March Whole Studio. I die cut and assembled the bow from Peony cardstock 7 times. I added a little shadow with Cotton Candy Ink to the ends of the bow and the tail piece. To assemble the bows, I used double-sided adhesive and Precision Glue because I wanted to be sure they were secure.

To create the banner, die cut the 3-inch Square Scallop Infinity Die from Lapis Cardstock and a 2.5-inch white square 6 times. On the white square I ink blended Lemon Drop Reactive Ink on one third and the spritzed it with Iridescent Shimmer Mist. While I let that dry, I die cut the letters from Passion Flower Cardstock twice and the grass from the Butterfly Foliage Die from Meadow Cardstock 4 times. I adhered the grass to the square making sure the yellow ink blending was at the top, above the grass. I cut any excess grass off and used the extra pieces on the last two squares. Then, I stacked the letters and adhered those in the middle of each square. Lastly, I added the completed square to the Lapis scallop square with Precision Glue.

To construct the banner, I used hot glue. I used some white cording from my stash and put hot glue on the back of the bow and laid the cord into it. I used small blobs of hot glue on the corners of each of the squares as well. Make sure you are checking the spelling from the front and alternate bows with scalloped squares.

I think the scallops and bows make a sweet little banner. I could definitely see making a banner for a baby or bridal shower, too. With daylight savings this weekend, I think I am ready for Spring with this pastel banner hanging in my living room. I hope you find time to create some spring décor for your home!
