Combining Sprays, Stencils & Pastes

May 23, 2024 Mindy Eggen

We are sad to announce that Mindy has decided to step down from our Creative Team. We are go grateful for all the amazing inspiration that she has provided over the years. To say we will miss her is an understatement, but we are so fortunate to have had her with us on the team for as long as we did. Her card below is very fitting for today because we will always smile when we think of Mindy. We wish her all the best!  ❤️ - The Hero Arts Team

Hello crafty friends! This is Mindy Eggen and I'm here today to share some inspiration using sprays, stencils and pastes.

I think I've mentioned before that when I am a little low on mojo, I'll just sit and create a bunch of backgrounds. This is really quick and easy to do especially with the Hero Arts Metallic Sprays

I use the Hero Arts Luxe White Watercolor Paper which is absolutely fantastic and one of my all-time favorites.

I'll lightly mist the paper with water and then spray it with Metallic Sprays. This particular background was created with Ocean Blue +Gold Two-Tone Metallic Spray and Bright Yellow + Copper Two-Tone Metallic Spray. You can also spray a crafting mat and then smoosh your watercolor paper into the mixture, which may also have been what I did here. When you get into that zone of making backgrounds you start to lose track of colors and the exact technique, but that's what makes those sessions so fun!

So after the panel is dry, I can trim it down to an A2 size card front using my paper trimmer.

I added some Gold Hero Paste over the top using my Palette Knife and the Dancing Lines Stencil. I love how I can still see so much of the background.

For the sentiment, I die cut the word "smile" about three times from Dove White cardstock and layered them together to add dimension. The bright white really pops off the front of the card!

For the smaller sentiment, I'm using the Smile Friend Stamp & Cut XL which is also where my die cut word came from. The sentiment I chose was a little too long for so I stamped it in Pitch Black ink onto white cardstock and then trimmed it down.

It's quite the party going on on the front of this card and I love it!

Hope this has inspired to dig out your sprays, stencils and pastes and just have some fun!

Thank you all so much for stopping by!
