Some Tea and Stencils...

Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you today. The brand new Ornate Floral Stencil that was released as an add-on to the September My Monthly Hero kit is absolutely stunning... I wanted to ink it up as soon as I got my hands on it! The pattern reminds me of a beautiful tablecloth, so I paired it with the Spill the Tea stamp set to create a card fit for a tea party! Let's get started with the details!

I began with a panel of white card stock. For intricate stencils, I like to add tape to the back of my card stock and adhere it to a sheet of printer paper. I then place the stencil over the top and add more washi tape to the sides to keep everything in place while doing my blending. I used my Clarity Stencil Brushes to blend some beautiful Tide Pool ink, then while the card base and stencil were still attached to the printer paper spritzed some of the White Iridescent Shimmer Spray to add some sparkle.

While my background was drying, I stamped and die cut the teacup and spoon from Spill the Tea onto some watercolor paper using Intense Black ink. I watercolored the images using Dark Teal, Pink, Leaf, Cocoa, and Black watercolors, adding Silver Glimmer Inks to the edge of the teacup and saucer. I also die cut a hot pink "hello" from the Hello Stamp & Cut, as well as stamped a greeting from Spill the Tea onto a strip of white card stock. I adhered everything using foam adhesive.

The final touch was a few dots of white Nuvo drops to add some visual flow and extra texture to the card front.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed this project! I love the beautiful texture and pattern that this gorgeous Ornate Floral Stencil provides. It really could stand on its own as a focal point of a project! Stencils give you such bang for your buck, because there are so many different ways they can be used. And of course, you can achieve some gorgeous Autumn-inspired looks when pairing this stencil with the September kit. You can grab your kit here before it sells out!

Thanks so much for dropping by! Have a marvelous day. :)
