Simple & Stylish Thank You Card
One of the new stencils from Hero Arts, the Deco Pattern stencil, has that unique Art Deco look and feel to it and being a big fan of the Art Deco style I couldn’t resist using it to create a stylish Thank You card.
I started working on my card by trimming a piece of kraft cardstock to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″. After taping it onto a non-stick mat I also taped my stencil in place and applied a generous coat of Nuvo Embellishment mousse in Lemon Sorbet. If you don’t have this particular product there are many other ways you can use a stencil. Here are just a few ideas with links to inspirational posts here on the Hero Arts blog:
- Watercolor stamping with stencils;
- Patterned backgrounds with stencils;
- Selective stenciling;
- Dry embossing with stencils.
I let the mousse dry and next trimmed my panel to be slightly smaller in size – 4 x 5 1/4″; next, I foam mounted it onto an A2 card base for a pop of dimension.
To create a sentiment for this card I used a “Thank You” banner from the Thank You Messages stamp set, stamped it 3 times in black ink, cut out using a coordinating die and foam mounted onto the card.
Lastly, I embellished my project using black pearls, I think they added a nice pop of black to the overall card design.
Have fun stamping!
I love the cards you make! You make a wide variety of cards to have on hand. This one simple but elegant. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
