Hello! Jess here with a bright and cheerful birthday card using the fun Shopping Bag Fancy die as a gift holder!

We recently released the Shopping Bag Fancy die as an add-on to the April 2017 My Monthly Hero kit; and while the kit is sold out, the die is still available. It doesn’t create a fully 3-dimensional bag that would stand up on its own but the design gives it a lot of dimension and you can easily tuck gift cards, notes, or cash inside! I die cut it with white cardstock and then used a bone folder to score the fold lines. I also lightly bent the score lines to help give it a little dimension and then adhered it together with ATG adhesive.

Next I inked our Confetti Bold Prints stamp with our Ombre Pink to Red and Ombre Light Red to Red Royal ink pads. Once the stamp was inked up I placed my card panel over the stamp and then placed a piece of scratch paper over the card panel so that I could press my hands over the stamp to evenly apply ink without getting ink all over my fingers.

I stamped the Balloon Animal Birthday balloons with Pale Tomato, Cotton Candy, and Ultra Pink ink and stamped the outline with Charcoal ink before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies.  Next I stamped my sentiment from Balloon Animal Birthday onto black cardstock with Versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. After looking at all of my elements I decided to tone down my background by placing a piece of vellum on top of it.  I adhered the Shopping Bag Fancy die to the vellum with ATG adhesive and then added my sentiment with foam mounting tape. I added twine to my balloons and then adhered them to the vellum with foam mounting tape.

I decided to add a little sparkle to the card with Ombre Blush sequins. Once the glue was dry I added regular ATG adhesive to the back of the vellum hidden behind the bag, sentiment, and balloon animals. I also added a line of vellum tape to the side of background panel that wasn’t covered by the shopping bag and animals and then adhered the vellum to the background panel to finish the card! You could easily change up this design by changing the color palette or sentiment. Or you could create a holiday look with one of our Christmas background stamps and holiday images tucked into your bag with a different sentiment. You can tuck cash, tissue paper, notes, or small gift cards inside the die!  There are lots of ways to customize the Shopping Bag Fancy die to fit all sorts of occasions!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
