MMH Countdown to Creativity

Hello and welcome! Today begins the countdown to the release of our September My Monthly Hero kit. It's Labor Day weekend, and we plan to get you in the mood for fall with this gorgeous new kit! And here's a fun little tidbit - the handlettering in this month's kit was done by a member of our Creative Team! Can you guess who? Stay with us throughout the weekend as our artists show off projects made with this month’s kit. And remember to comment on each and every post – we’ll be giving away a kit on Tuesday morning, before the kit launches at 1pm eastern/10am pacific on Tuesday, September 6! Now join Jayne as she gives the first glimpse of this gorgeous kit! (Hint: it's not Jayne's lettering!)

I can't begin to tell you how much I adore every beautiful image, sentiment, and intricate die included in this month's kit or available as an add-on! I'm actually a bit overwhelmed with all of the wonderful contents - it made it very hard to decide what elements I wanted to use for my first card. I was immediately drawn to the lovely "grateful" sentiment, so today I'm sharing a thank you card featuring this pretty stamp over a layered and inked wreath.

I started by stitching along the upper and lower edges of a trimmed panel of kraft layering paper that is included in this month's kit. Before setting it aside, I added a few small spots of [hero_product_link sku="AF249" text="white ink"] onto the panel with an eraser tip to resemble paint splatters. Then, I cut two identical wreaths from [hero_product_link sku="PS610" text="white"] cardstock with one of the gorgeous, new wreath dies. Using a [hero_product_link sku="MI002" text="sponge dauber"], I inked each wreath with four fun colors - [hero_product_link sku="AF223" text="Tide Pool"], [hero_product_link sku="AF209" text="Green Hills"], [hero_product_link sku="AF207" text="Butter Bar"] and [hero_product_link sku="AF255" text="Pumpkin Pie"]. This might be my favorite color combination for autumn cards and I love how the four inks look side-by-side on the foliage wreaths!

Next, I [hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="embossed"] one of the many hand-written sentiments in the monthly kit onto a strip of vellum. I layered both wreaths onto the kraft panel, wrapped the panel with the vellum sentiment strip, and then adhered the panel to a [hero_product_link sku="PS640" text="tide"] card base. I scattered a few copper gemstones, also included in this month's kit, over the wreath and then I tied a gingham bow along the top edge. By the way, did you happen to notice the small leaf dies? Just one more reason to love this kit!
