Sending All the Love!
Hi everybody! It's Maria here and I've got a bright, colorful, and just a little bit grungy card to share with you today. I love making grungy, distressed backgrounds and pairing them with bold images that will pop off of the background.
For today's card I paired the You Shine stamp set with the Galaxy Peek-a-Boo Parts background stamp. I started out by ink-blending a piece of Dove White cardstock cut to 3.75" x 5" with Summer Sky and Navy inks. I made sure to leave the upper left area a little lighter so that it would look like my sun/moon was lighting up the galaxy. To grunge up the background I sprayed it heavily with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and splattered it with White Metallic Ink. After the background was dry I heat embossed the galaxy background stamp onto my ink-blended background in Brass Embossing Powder.
I stamped the sun/moon image from the You Shine stamp set in Intens-ified Black ink and colored it in using a variety of Copic markers in reds, oranges and yellows. I finished it off with accents in white gel pen and cut it out with the coordinating dies. This image is so cool! It's both a sun and a moon in one image... but if you look closely you can see that there is also a face on the right side that is looking left towards the moon. I love images like this that have different elements hidden in them depending on how you look at them. I used the same Copic markers to color a piece of white cardstock so that I could stamp my sentiment and have it match the sun/moon.
To finish my card up I adhered the background to a black card base with foam tape. I popped the image and sentiment up on foam tape too. Then I added some enamel dots from the Sunset Hero Hues Enamel Dots pack to add some additional pops of color and more texture to my card.
