Saturdays with Sally: Happy Happy Spring!
I am honored to host the blog on this first day of SPRING!!! It is MOST welcomed this year! And on this first day of spring, I'm inspired by this month's Stay Crafty with Hero blog challenge - Bring on Spring!
Life Is Beautiful is one of my favorite sets because it has so many possibilities. So let’s show you a few cards you can create with it.
First up let’s make the typewriter card - I love this fun die! Die cut Typewriter Fancy Die from Kiwi cardstock, then cut another one from Antique Ivory and cut the ivory so it is the paper coming out of the typewriter. Stamp "Happy Spring" in Intense Black ink and randomly stamp some flowers in Bubble Gum ink. Color in with colored pencils then take a fine black pen and outline some of them. Add Enamel Dots. (Lots of enamel dots would make a great, colorful keyboard on a birthday card!)
I used Life Is Beautiful once again to create a floral patch. But first, ink up From the Vault Aged Shadow Stamp on just the edges in Tide Pool ink and stamp. Then stamp out the “leaves or grass” in any green inks randomly. Stamp the flowers on Mustard, Azalea and Amethyst cardstocks in black or tone on tone colors, as I did. Hand cut the flowers and foam mount onto the card, adding enamel dot centers.
Lastly, you know I love die cut cards! And I begged for this flower die for years (thanks!). To make this “standing” flower, place the largest die from Flower Infinity Dies on a folded Peony card with two petals going over the fold. Cut another flower in Kiwi to make the leaves and make a smaller flower in white for the center. Stamp some tiny flowers in Bubble Gum all over the Peony flower card. Embellish with a button with floss.
So SPRING to it and start creating!!
