Same Products - Three Ways!

Mar 07, 2018 Hero Arts

Today we're doing something a little different. We've asked two artists to use the same products, and put their own spin on them! Ilina and Libby both worked with the Every Which Way stencil and the Birthday Hugs and Kisses stamp set. Let's start with Ilina...

Hi everyone, this is Ilina. Here's my take on the new Every Which Way stencil and Birthday Hugs and Kisses stamp set. I got carried away and made two cards.

For my first card I started with a piece of Radiant White card stock and secured the stencil over it. Using Mint Julep, Aegean and Emerald Green ink pads I created an ombre stenciled look. With the stencil still in place I applied Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste, removed the stencil and set it aside to dry.

In meantime I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Hugs and Kisses stamp set on Black Layering Paper (Midnight mix) using Versamark ink and embossed with Detail White embossing powder. Next I die cut it using the Tag Frames Infinity Dies and trimmed it off on the right side. I trimmed my stenciled piece (once completely dry) to 3 3/4" x 5" and assembled my card onto a Black folded notecard. To finish it off I added some Champagne Mix sequins (only the white and clear ones) and silver thread.

For my second card, I did the stenciling in very similar way, only I didn't do the inking part. I directly applied Nuvo Gold Glimmer Paste over the stencil on my Radiant white piece of card stock, then set it aside to dry, while I was working on the rest of my card.

I stamped the sentiment onto Black Layering Paper (Midnight mix) using Versamark ink, embossed with Gold embossing powder and die cut it using the Rounded Rectangle Infinity Dies.

Once the stenciled panel was completely dry I trimmed it down to 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" and assembled my card onto a Black folded notecard. I used Champagne Mix sequins and gold thread as finishing touches.

Now let's see what Libby was up to...

While Ilina's card are quite elegant, I decided to go a little "wild" for my card today!

Go Wild card by Libby Hickson for Hero Arts

I secured the Every Which Way stencil over a trimmed Snow panel, then applied ink with a blending tool in an ombre fashion, starting with Orchid at the top, then Neon Purple and finishing with Neon Pink. The fun message from Birthday Hugs and Kisses stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink, then embossed in silver. I matted the message strip with some vellum, and finished the card with sequins from the Pink Pop Flowers mix.
