Reactive Lift Technique with Jellyfish Party Bold Prints
Nichol Spohr
Hello! One of my most favorite add-on products from the March My Monthly Hero Release is the incredible Jellyfish Party Bold Prints background. Today I'm going to share how I created this Reactive Lift of the jellyfish images with the Reactive Inks from the March Kit. It's a simple, yet effective technique!
Reactive Sea Glass and Reactive Blue Water inks were applied to Bristol Smooth cardstock with ink blending tools. Water from a Distress Sprayer was lightly spritzed over the background and the inks reacted with the water, lightening where the water hit the inked cardstock. A paper towel was used to blot the water droplets.
A heat tool was used to dry the background before the Jellyfish Party Bold Prints background was stamped over the inked panel with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
A water flow brush pen was used to apply water to the jellyfish images and the ink was "lifted" with a dry paper towel. Everywhere water is applied, the Reactive Ink reacts and is lifted away!
The panel was set aside to dry and then spritzed with White Iridescent Shimmer Mist.
A sentiment from the Pet Goldfish stamp set was stamped on the background with Reactive Blue Water Ink. The Mini MISTI was used so the greeting could be stamped one on top of another for a bolder sentiment.
The fish from the Paper Layering Goldfish In Bowl was die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock and colored in with 061 Light Brown and 076 Medium Beige Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Once colored, Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White were applied in tiny, tiny drops to the gills and to the center of the eye. The die was adhered to the background with foam adhesive.
The background was applied to a Dove White Top Folded Card and finished with a sprinkling of blue droplets from the March 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit.
I hope you will try the lift technique with the awesome Reactive Inks. They are super fun!
