Rainbow Shaker With Mindy
Hi everyone! It's Mindy here with you today to share a rainbow shaker card for the Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #26. For this challenge, you can include a rainbow image or a rainbow of color and I included both! While we would love for you to use Hero products, any and all entries are eligible.
I'll be using the Rainbow Window Fancy Die for my card today. It's features all these cute little rainbows which you could leave white as I did, or color in the individual rays of the rainbow.
Since this is a window die, I couldn't resist creating a shaker card. Hope you aren't sick of shaker cards from me.
I die cut the Rainbow Window Fancy Die from a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Dove White cardstock. On the back side, I lined it with Acetate using my Precision Glue to attach it.
For the well of the shaker, I used two layers of foam tape. Before I add any sequins, I'm going to create the background for my shaker. I could stamp images or even ink blend but I decided to use a rainbow of colored Hero Hues Premium Cardstock. I cut each color into 1/4" strips and adhered diagonally on another piece of Dove White cardstock measuring the same size as my front panel.
Now that my background is ready, I'm going to add some Icicle Sequins to my shaker well, remove the backing of the foam tape and attach my rainbow strip panel.
Once the shaker is complete, I added it to a top folding A2 card base. For some finishing touches, I die cut a few of the birds using the Cloudy Sky Scene Die and Pitch Black cardstock.
Thank you cards and birthday cards are my most used types of cards and since school is starting soon, I went for a thank you card. This sentiment comes from the Rainbow HeroScape set. It has the perfect small strip sentiments. I stamped the sentiment in Unicorn pigment ink onto Pitch Black cardstock, heat embossed White detail embossing powder and trimmed to a thin strip.
Those icicle sequins were just the perfect touch to the shaker.
You could use one or both rainbow ideas in your challenge card and I hope you'll play along with us now through September 9!
Thanks so much for joining me today!
