Photo Shaker Snow Globe
Emily Midgett
Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today with some holiday shaker inspiration for you! Ever since my children were born, I have always tried to make it a point to get some nice photos taken in the fall to use for our holiday card and to help document their growth. But, as a cardmaker, I feel like a bit of a cheater sending out only photo cards that I get professionally printed, so I am always on the lookout to combine my cardmaking passion with the sweet pictures we get taken of our kiddos! Enter Hero Arts's Layering Snow Globe Fancy Die set. Let's get started with the details!
I began by die cutting the large Snow Globe outline from the Layering Fancy Snow Globe from some Dove White cardstock. I backed the window frame with acetate to create the front of my shaker card.
To create the background for my shaker card, I trimmed down one of our older photos and mounted it on a Dove White Folded Card. I added a bunch of sparkly sequins to fill my shaker and make it extra festive!
Once I had mounted my snow globe window panel, I die cut the Merry Christmas Script Stamp & Cut from some silver glitter cardstock that I had in my stash. I also die cut several snowflakes using the snowflake cluster die included in the Layering Snow Globe Fancy Die set and added them sporadically on the card front.
Well, that's all for my project today! I hope you didn't mind seeing a photo of my little family instead of some stamping; I love creating hybrid holiday cards like this! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
Love your inventive idea of combining the snow globe die with you photo and then making it into a shaker!! Great idea!!
Love this! Will those dies work with a Scan n Cut? I’m not familiar with them. Thanks for the info! This is a great idea!!
