Hi, friends! Caly here today sharing a card using the Peonies Stamp and Die Combo that I watercolored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

I started by stamping my images using Intense Black ink over Bristol Vellum cardstock. Bristol Smooth works well also for watercoloring with watercolor markers - I accidentally purchased the wrong pad but it still absorbs ink and water just as well. Believe it or not, I only used three markers for my card - Purple, Deep Green, and Bright Yellow! I used a damp watercolor brush to pull out the color after applying the ink in the crevices where shadows would be - I find I can control the water best with a watercolor brush versus a waterbrush that many like to use.

When I finished coloring the flowers, I did the same with the leaves using the green marker. I die cut the images with the coordinating dies. Then I added foam tape to the back of the large flower and began adhering the foliage around it until I was satisfied with the layout then set it aside to work on the card front. I decided to use a neutral craft color and ink-blended around it with Soft Brown ink to give the card some shading. To add some texture, I also splattered the card with white ink.

To complete my card, I embossed the sentiment on black cardstock using white embossing powder.

I hope you enjoyed this project. Thanks for stopping by today!

Love it. Did you color on the front or backside of the vellum?

Thank you for using only 3 colors! I’m not an painter and find it very hard and expensive to use many colors on my cards. Actually, I shy away from doing it at all. Your card is beautiful and absolutely something I would feel comfortable attempting!
