Overflowing With Love
Emily Midgett
Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I have some more Valentine's Day inspiration for you using some old and some new products from the latest My Monthly Hero release! I find it difficult to create cards for guys, especially my own manly-man who is a woodworker, antique car aficionado, and a general handyman, and I find that the best way to attempt to accommodate that masculinity on cards is to keep things simple and graphic, with a pop of "man" colors, and no flowers. Today's project follows all three of those guidelines! (The no-flowers part was especially tough for me, haha!) Let's get started with the details.
To start, I die cut the Heart Confetti Fancy Die from some Paradise cardstock. (There's your pop of "masculine" color!) I blended some Rose Madder Bold Ink around the edges of a white A2 panel and adhered the die cut panel to the front using Precision Glue.
Next, I used the new Cup of Love stamps and coordinating Frame Cuts (which, bummer, I noticed are out of stock at the moment!! They are anticipated to be restocked next week!) to stamp and die cut an overflowing coffee cup and spoon using Intens-ified Black Ink on some Copic-friendly white cardstock.
Finally, I die cut a big pink heart using the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies from some Azalea cardstock, then white embossed a sentiment from Cup of Love. After arranging all of the die cuts in a little cluster, I adhered them to the card front using foam adhesive for extra dimension.
And there you have it! A Valentine fit for your manly man! Pop of turquoise, no flowers, and a simple, graphic design. (Even if there is a little pink.... shh, don't tell!) Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
