Today we're delighted to have Creative Team member Jayne Nelson here to share some fabulous "beyond the kit" ideas for a few of the add-ons
Hi, today I’m sharing two seasonal cards that I created with several of my favorite October add-on products. My first card features the adorable Cozy Penguin Bundle paired with the beautiful Sprinkled Dots Stencil. Both of these versatile products can be used well beyond the winter holidays.
After stamping and coloring a penguin with a hat and a scarf, I secured him to a small tag that I cut from Periwinkle cardstock using one of the Tag Infinity Dies. I also stamped snowflakes with Periwinkle ink onto the top of the tag, added a small hand-cut snow bank at the base, and stamped a small sentiment with Intens-ified Black ink at the lower corner.
To create the snowy background, I stenciled a panel of Nautical cardstock with the Sprinkled Dots stencil using Hero Glitter Paste. The glitter paste adds wonderful sparkle and texture to any card design. Once the paste dried completely, I glued it to a Nautical side-folded card. Before securing the penguin tag to the card with foam tape, I layered a Classic Vellum tag behind the tag and then tied them both with black cording.
My second card features the new Snow Globe Window Fancy Die and a cute Christmas tree from the North Pole Express Bundle.
I die cut detailed snow globes from Dove White and Charcoal cardstock, and a snow globe frame from Nautical cardstock. I applied Blue Hawaii Reactive ink across the white globe with a blending brush, splattered it with water to create snow, and then glued it to the blue frame. I also fussy cut the Charcoal base along the embossed lines and glued the two pieces to the frame. Next, I added a small, hand-cut snow bank at the bottom of the globe and a white, stenciled reflection at the top of the globe to give the appearance of glass.
To the globe, I added a stamped and colored Christmas tree and a white embossed holiday sentiment from the Holiday Sentiments Strips set that was trimmed with the Sentiment Strips Fancy Die. I secured the completed snow globe to a panel of Dove White cardstock with foam tape, and then glued that panel to a Granite card base.
