Ocean Window Cards
Happy Summer everyone! I am so happy to share some beach themed cards today using the Urban Window Fancy Die (June Fancy Die of the Month) and the Color Layering Sunset over Waves stamp set. I head to the beach in two weeks so these cards are definitely getting me into vacation mode.
For my first card I used the Color Layering Sunset over Waves stamp set with Summer Sky, Aquatic, and Deep Ocean inks. I very lightly ink blended Dusty Blue above the water then, I used Dandelion ink on the sun and water reflection layer. I used Unicorn White ink on the cloud layer for some subtle clouds.
On the sand I ink blended with Sand ink and very light hand. I swiped my Embossing & Watermark ink pad across the bottom of and poured Sand Embossing Powder over the panel. I went in with a dry flat paintbrush and tapped along the harsh edge before heat embossing.
I die cut the Urban Window plus the book stack and plant from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock. I used Copic Markers to color the tree branches, plant and book stack.
I attached the window to the beach scene and trimmed it down. I made sure to offset the sun just a bit. I added the plant and book stack to the window. For the background panel, I dry embossed an Antique Ivory card panel with the Tile Pattern Stencil.
On my second card I did the ocean scene almost exactly the same just using a bit of Unicorn White ink and clear embossing powder on the water reflection. I also added the "hello friend" sentiment from the stamp set.
For this card I die cut the Urban Window die twice but trimmed out the tree branches from both. I attached one window to the front of a Clear Card and then another to the inside front of the same card. I attached the beach scene to a top folding card base and trimmed it down to be the size of the window. I attached the top folding card to the inside back panel and then added another white cardstock the same size to the back. This is just to cover the adhesive.
To finish off this card I added a few Seashells Fancy Dies to the front window. I die cut those seashells with watercolor paper and used the Skin Tone Liquid Watercolor Set to add color. I also added some sand embossing for texture.
Thank you for letting me share my vacation inspired cards today. If you can't get to the beach this summer, I hope you at least get to craft some beach cards.
