November My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway
Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the November My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, November 4 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We will be here all weekend long, sharing inspiration before the launch on Monday. Now let's join Caly for the first look at the kit!
Hi, friends! Last month, we had a retro holiday kit. How about a more traditional holiday kit this month? I've created an indoor holiday scene for today, but be sure to check out the blog hop on Monday for the outdoor scene! That's right - you can create both and many other fun projects with this month's kit!
I stamped a few of the images on white cardstock to color, but I also stamped my staircase on a card panel to give my card more dimension today. After stamping the staircase, I masked off the floor to ink-blend with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink, then did the opposite to ink-blend the "wall" portion of my background with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.
After ink-blending, I started coloring all the images with Copic markers.
Yellows: Y11, YR23
Reds: R05, R46, R89
Blues: B16, B18, G21
Greens: YG63, G29
Browns: E31, E35, E37
Blues: BG02, BG07, BG18
I added my die-cut images with foam adhesive after adding some white gel highlights to them. After stamping the sentiment in the upper left hand corner, I finished my card by adding some clear lacquer to the ornaments and stars on the Christmas tree.
I hope you enjoyed this card! Thanks for stopping by!

This card is adorable! Thank you for all the tips for masking! Great help for all beginners like me!
This card is so adorable. I love the dog sleeping by the tree.
I love Christmas scene building kits. I cant wait to see the rest of the kit.
Beautiful card. You have done such a wonderful job shading and blending.
What a cozy Christmas scene this makes. I love it! The stairs are so different and amazing and the puppy just makes me smile. Looks like he plans to catch Santa leaving his treats!
