November My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 + Giveaway!

We are back for another countdown post, leading up to the release of the November My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, November 5th at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We'll be sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. And don't forget to leave a comment on this and every post as we will be giving away a kit on Monday. Now let's join Emily who is sharing another look at this fabulous kit...

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you for some more inspiration using this month's fantastic My Monthly Hero kit! This month's clever, super unique kit features stamps and dies to create a miniature Advent Calendar. As you will see from the Creative Team's posts, this kit can be used in so many different ways. My project for today is more traditional, featuring the main elements of the kit in the way that they were originally intended. But your creativity is the limit! So many fun possibilities for this one. Let's get started with my project!

As some of you might know, I am momma to twins. The Elf on the Shelf is one of their favorite holiday traditions... but I'll be honest, I am not nearly as clever as my husband when it comes to making Clarice perform tricks (naughty or nice haha!). So I thought combining the Elf on a Shelf tradition with this fantastic little Advent calendar from the November My Monthly Hero would be perfect for my little ones!

My idea for today starts with the advent calendar cover plate die included in the November My Monthly Hero kit. I began by die cutting it from white card stock, then blended Pale Tomato ink around the edges to add a bit of interest to the plain panel. I then used Intense Black ink to stamp the individual dates using the stamps in the clear set included in the November My Monthly Hero kit. I also stamped and silver embossed the beautiful ornament rubber stamp background that is also included in the main kit. The individual ornament images line up perfectly with the little doors on the die cut front panel, so that after you've adhered the die cut to the embossed panel, you see a lovely, detailed ornament image behind each door.

For the interactive portion of the daily scavenger hunt, I created some little tags using the numbers included on the clear stamp set in the November My Monthly Hero kit. I began by die cutting the Fancy Ornaments Infinity dies from some red card stock, then white heat embossing numbers on them from the clear stamp set included in the My Monthly Hero kit. I added a white gel pen border around the edge of the tag, then punched a hole in the top of the tag and threaded some twine through to make a cute little tag for my kiddos to "find" when they find Clarice each morning! Whoever finds her and the daily tag first can then head over to the clipboard with the calendar and open the corresponding door!

Well, that's all for me today! It's always fun when my crafting can be combined to make fun memories for my kiddos. I hope you're enjoying all of these creative ideas to make your own Advent calendars with this new My Monthly Hero kit... so many fun possibilities for your holiday crafting with this one! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all the countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, November 5th, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern time. The more you comment, the more chances to win! Good luck!
